Metronome June web.jpg

Hello and welcome to the June issue of Metronome Magazine. This month we feature four great musical acts with the first being Boston based country singer, Elisa Smith. She's got some great vocal chops and an equally cool story to tell.  Check her out. Country music star Rockie Lynne weighs in next with a story stranger than fiction. It's the story of his life and how he overcame show stopping hurdles to become a bonafied country music legend. Next up, singer-songwriter-guitarist Rick Vito talks about his great new blues record, Cadillac Man. This guy has plenty of great stories to tell. Last, but certainly not least, traveling troubadour Bobbo Byrnes returns to the pages of Metronome with his yearly check in of new music, worldly gigs and spot-on life observances. You don't want to miss what Bobbo has to say.

Turn the pages and you'll find well penned CD reviews of Jeff Thomas, Reverend Shawn Amos, Les Sampou, Sue Foley, Bart Bryant, The Infinite Wet Secret, The Cynz, Eden Brent, The Cornfed Project, Forceghost and Special Pillow. But wait, there's more! You can still find our regular rants: Metronome Madness, Metroscene and Musical Gear Classifieds, as well as Alex Gecko's Musician's Autobiography book reviews that include Peter Doherty, Miky Berenyi, Jarvis Cocker and The B-52s. If you love to read about your favorite musicians, Alex makes a good guide. So are we done? No! Make sure to read musician/lawyer Ricky Berger's insightful music-law column. This veteran knows what he'd talking about. If you have questions for Ricky, contact him at: rkentberger@gmail.com. He'll set you straight.

With our sincere condolences we say goodbye to Arthur "Pooch" Tavares of the band Tavares, who died in April at age 81; Founding member and singer-songwriter-guitarist Dickey Betts of The Allman Brothers who left us on April 18 from cancer and heart disease. He was 80; Founding member and keyboard player of The Moody Blues Mike Pinder passed away April 24 at his California home at age 82; Rock & Roll pioneer, Duane Eddy died of cancer April 30 at the age of 86. All these players leave their music to the world. Rest In Peace!
